The China Railway Corporation announced on July 27 that in September this year, after the Beijing-Shanghai high-speed railway implemented a new train diagram, it organized the "Fuxing" to officially go online at a speed of 350 kilometers per hour. By then, the fastest running time of the Beijing-Shanghai high-speed rail will be shortened to about 4.5 hours, which is about half an hour shorter than the existing running time.
On July 27, the reporter boarded the G350727 train to experience the "Fuxing" trial run.
Speed up the experience?
Compared with "Harmony", safety, comfort and economy have been improved
At 8:38 a.m. on July 27, the G350727 "Fuxing" high-speed railway pulled out of Beijing South Railway Station and began to speed up steadily. Ten minutes later, the train speed was raised to 289 kilometers per hour; at 8:50, the speed was raised to 350 kilometers per hour; since then, the train has been running smoothly at 350 kilometers per hour; at 10:51, the train arrived at Xuzhou Station smoothly. During this period, the maximum operating speed of the "Fuxing" reached 352 kilometers per hour.
"The safety and comfort indicators of the 'Fuxing' are very good. The Beijing-Shanghai high-speed railway meets the requirement of operating at a design speed of 350 kilometers per hour." He Huawu, special technical adviser to the general manager of China Railway Corporation and academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, said.
Is it economically cost-effective to mention 350 kilometers per hour from 300 kilometers per hour?
He Huawu said that the Beijing-Shanghai high-speed rail has done a feasibility study to speed up. "From 300 kilometers per hour to 350 kilometers per hour, although energy consumption will increase by 20% to 30%, because it shortens the running time, improves the operating efficiency, and can attract more passenger flow, it is economically feasible on the whole.."
In the history of China's high-speed rail operation, the Beijing-Tianjin intercity, Wuhan-Guangzhou high-speed rail, Zhengxi high-speed rail, and Shanghai-Hangzhou high-speed rail have all operated at a speed of 350 kilometers per hour. Compared with the "Harmony" of that year, how did the first show of the "Fuxing" perform?
The first is good security. At a speed of 350 kilometers per hour, the derailment coefficient of the "Fuxing" is between 0.2 and 0.3, while the international standard is 0.8. "The lower the derailment coefficient, the better, which shows that there is no problem with the dynamic safety of the Beijing-Shanghai high-speed railway." Southwest Jiaotong University professor, academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering Zhai Wanming said.
The second is more comfortable. At a speed of 350 kilometers per hour, the stability index of the "Fuxing" is around 2.0. Zhai Wanming introduced that according to international standards, this indicator is excellent below 2.5. The index of "Fuxing" proves that its suspension system is well designed and better than "Harmony. In addition, compared with the "Harmony", the noise in the driver's cab and compartment area of the "Fuxing" has been reduced by 4 decibels, and the experience when passing through the tunnel is also better.
There is better economy. At a speed of 350 kilometers per hour, the total electricity consumption of the "Fuxing" was 10% lower than that of the "Harmony. "On a round trip to Beijing and Shanghai, the Fuxing can save more than 5000 kwh of electricity than the Harmony." Zhang Bo, a researcher at the Institute of Railway Locomotive and Rolling Stock, said.
"The Fuxing has realized the operation at a speed of 350 kilometers per hour on the Beijing-Shanghai high-speed rail. This is an important achievement in the development of China's high-speed rail industry since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, and it also marks the beginning of a new chapter in the development of China's high-speed rail." Lu Dongfu, general manager of China Railway Corporation, said, "Fuxing is a Chinese standard and China's independent intellectual property rights, which proves that we can not only develop and manufacture 350km high-speed trains, but also operate safely."
Will the ticket price increase?
This time in September, the price will not be raised if the speed is increased.
About one-third of the 22000-kilometer high-speed rail network in operation in my country is designed and built at a speed of 350 kilometers per hour, but it is currently operating at a speed of 300 kilometers per hour or less.
Why was the first to choose the Beijing-Shanghai high-speed rail to reach speed? In the view of Du Yanliang, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, the Beijing-Shanghai high-speed rail is the longest distance and highest technical standard high-speed rail built at one time in China. Six years of practical inspection has proved that the smoothness of the line and the comfort of the train have reached the original design standards, passed the national acceptance, and should reach the speed. "The design speed of the Beijing-Shanghai high-speed railway is 350 kilometers per hour. Making the operating speed meet the design standard is not only to meet the best balance point in technology, but also to meet the needs of economic and social development."
From the perspective of market demand, as of June 30 this year, the 6th anniversary of the opening of the Beijing-Shanghai high-speed rail, the cumulative number of passengers sent exceeded 0.63 billion, and the average annual traffic volume exceeded 0.1 billion. With the substantial increase in passenger traffic, the Beijing-Shanghai high-speed rail turned losses into profits in 2014, achieved shareholder dividends in 2015, and further improved profitability in 2016 and the first half of 2017. Especially this year, the average number of trains running on the Beijing-Shanghai high-speed railway has reached 426 per day, and many golden trains are hard to find. The number of passengers on the first day of the "May Day" long holiday set a record of 666000. Driving more cars and running faster trains are the aspirations of many Beijing-Shanghai high-speed rail passengers.
He Huawu revealed that after the Beijing-Shanghai high-speed rail map adjustment in September this year, it is expected that about 7 pairs of "Fuxing" with a speed of 350 kilometers per hour will be operated, mainly from Beijing to Shanghai, but the number of Beijing-Shanghai direct trains will not exceed 20%.%. With the increase in the supply of "Fuxing" trains, they will continue to open in the future. "This map adjustment in September will speed up without raising prices."
Sun Yongcai, executive director of CNRC, said that the manufacturing cycle of "Fuxing" is 8 to 10 months, and CNRC can manufacture about 400 "Fuxing" a year, and will provide technical support for speed increase.
Will it speed up across the board?
It will form a series of products covering 200 kilometers per hour to 350 kilometers per hour.
Some experts suggest that after the Beijing-Shanghai high-speed railway runs at 350 kilometers for a period of time, the high-speed railways designed at 350 kilometers per hour, such as Beijing-Guangzhou and Zhengxi, should gradually speed up to the design speed, so as to promote economic and social development along the line.
So, will China's high-speed rail speed be fully accelerated to the "350" era?
The relevant person in charge of the China Railway Corporation said that the high-speed rail product with a speed of 350 kilometers per hour is only the highest-level product in China's high-speed rail development. It is one of the high-speed rail products and does not represent all. In underdeveloped areas, people are more sensitive to fares and less sensitive to time, so high-speed rail will focus on products with a speed of 250 kilometers per hour; in developed areas, where there is a large passenger flow and they are more willing to exchange higher fares for time, then high-speed rail will focus on providing products with a speed of 350 kilometers per hour. In the future, China will form a series of high-speed rail products covering 200 kilometers per hour to 350 kilometers per hour, which is also an important part of the structural reform of the railway supply side.
The speed of the Beijing-Shanghai high-speed railway to 350 kilometers per hour has also attracted overseas attention. Sun Yongcai said that the development of the "Fuxing" not only developed products with superior performance, but more importantly, created a Chinese standard technical system, constructed a supply chain system with completely independent intellectual property rights, and formed the core competitiveness of international competition. "On China's high-speed rail network, 2693 EMUs are operated every day, which has accumulated a wealth of high-speed rail big data for us and is also a unique competitive resource in the world." Sun Yongcai said, "'Fuxing' runs at a speed of 350 kilometers per hour, which provides valuable experience for China's technical system and operational experience'going out', and also makes China's standard EMU more influential."
