In 2020, the national railway operating mileage will reach 150000 kilometers, including 30000 kilometers of high-speed railways, and a "four vertical and four horizontal" high-speed railway main skeleton network will be built. From ancient times to the present, the Chinese people have attached great importance to the role of the Big Dipper. From 2018 to 2020, Beidou global network will enter a period of intensive launch. In the future, China will build a national integrated positioning and navigation timing (PNT) system with Beidou system as the core, with seamless coverage of air, space and sea, high precision, safety and reliability, and all things connected and all things intelligent. By then, space-time information services will penetrate into every corner of our lives, and Beidou will be everywhere and everywhere.

The comprehensive application demonstration project of Beidou railway industry is jointly undertaken by China Railway Fifth Survey and Design Institute Group Co., Ltd. and Northern Information Control Research Institute. The project is the first batch of comprehensive application demonstration projects of the national Beidou major project for the railway industry. The project focuses on the "1 1 9" construction layout, that is: the construction of a large data center, the construction of a space-time information cloud platform, in 9 major railway business sectors to promote more than 8000 Beidou terminal equipment. The nine major railway business sectors include: railway engineering survey, automatic monitoring system, intelligent site system, location-aware early warning and protection system, railway works inspection, track survey and smoothness detection, "the belt and road initiative" China-Europe train container positioning tracking, high-score remote sensing geological survey, high-speed rail train control system, etc.

Based on Beidou satellite and geographic information system technology, Beijing-Zhangjiakou high-speed railway provides intelligent services for the whole process of construction, operation, scheduling, maintenance and emergency response. The real-time "physical examination" system of the line can connect every bridge, station and rail to the computer through sensors. Whether the parts are aging, whether the subgrade is settled, and whether the lighting is damaged can be clear at a glance. In addition, the high-speed rail perimeter intrusion alarm system, earthquake early warning system, natural disaster monitoring system, etc. will form the intelligent dispatching and command system of the EMU.
