From July 10 to 11, 2018, the 3rd International Railway Braking and Friction Technology Forum jointly organized by the Academy of Iron Sciences Group and the British Brake Conference Company was successfully held in Beijing. The forum is a professional forum in the field of railway vehicle braking technology. The first two sessions were held in the UK, and this year was held in China for the first time.
        
Relevant leaders of the Science and Information Department and the Vehicle Department of China Railway Corporation attended the forum. Li Xuefeng, deputy general manager of China Railway Academy Group, delivered an opening speech at the forum. More than 90 representatives from relevant enterprises and universities of CRRC, Dalian Jiaotong University, Bombardier, Knorr, Faveley, Aachen University of Applied Technology, Central Queensland University of Australia, Indian National Institute of Technology, China Railway Academy Group Corporation and other enterprises and universities attended the forum.
In his speech, Deputy General Manager Li Xuefeng first extended a warm welcome to experts and representatives from various countries who came from afar to participate in this forum. He introduced the main agenda of this forum and the basic situation of the Group Company of the Academy of Railway Sciences, and looked forward to the future development direction of railway technology such as intelligence, safety, economy, efficiency and environmental protection. Li Xuefeng said that the Chinese Academy of Railway Sciences Group is willing to work with international railway colleagues to continuously strengthen exchanges, enhance understanding, achieve mutual benefit and win-win cooperation, and jointly make new contributions to promoting the development of world railways.
In this forum, 15 Chinese and foreign experts gave academic lectures on key areas such as rolling stock brake friction materials, brake control, brake calculation, fault diagnosis, data application, test inspection, and environmental protection. Representatives of various countries had in-depth exchanges on relevant technical issues.
During the forum, the expert representatives also visited the National Railway Test Center of the Group Company of the Academy of Railway Sciences, experienced the vehicle loop test on the spot, and felt the technical strength and advanced test verification methods of the Group Company in the vehicle dynamic test, braking force, pantograph-catenary relationship and wheel-rail relationship test.
In recent years, under the leadership and strong support of China Railway Corporation, relying on its profound technical accumulation in the field of braking technology and its rich application experience in multi-scene and multi-working conditions in China's high-speed rail, heavy haul, urban rail and other fields, it has deeply participated in international academic exchanges and cooperation, and its voice in the field of international braking technology has been continuously improved. This International Railway Braking and Friction Technology Forum was held in China for the first time, which has a positive role in further enhancing international technical exchanges and expanding the international influence of China's railways.
