A few days ago, the reporter learned from CRRC Zhuzhou Electric Locomotive Co., Ltd. that the Macedonian EMU project, the first batch of Chinese EMUs exported to Europe, developed and produced by the company, has passed the TSI(Technical Specification for Interoperability) certification. This marks that the Chinese EMU has officially obtained the EC conformity certification of European railway products, won the recognition of European technical standards, and obtained the pass for related products to serve the European market.

TSI is the abbreviation of EU Railway Interconnection Technical Specification, which is the EU technical regulation on railway products.

Since the first Macedonian EMU was put into trial operation in early 2016, the EMU has withstood the test of large passenger flow operation during local Oktoberfest, Easter and other festivals. With good operating conditions, the project has been accepted and verified through the whole process of design, production and type test in more than 2 years of TSI certification, and has full compliance in TSILOC & PAS (rolling stock), TSISRT (tunnel safety), TSIPRM (people with limited mobility) and TSINOI (noise) regulations.

The TSI certification obtained by CRRC provides a good reference for the establishment of China's urban rail vehicle certification system, and further improves the ability to recognize and grasp the standard.
