On June 2, the world's first "intelligent rail express system" (hereinafter referred to as "intelligent rail") developed by CRRC Zhuzhou Electric Locomotive Research Institute Co., Ltd. was unveiled in Zhuzhou. This "cross-border" mode of transportation not only has the passenger carrying advantages of rail transit trains, but also does not need to build proprietary rails. It can also travel flexibly in the city like a bus, which is a "good way" to alleviate urban traffic congestion ".
The train identifies the "virtual track route" of the road through various on-board sensors, transmits the information to the "brain" of the train, and travels along the established "virtual track" under the control of the "brain. With the design of multi-axle steering system, the turning radius of "smart rail" is equivalent to that of ordinary buses, but the channel width is smaller than that of ordinary buses. The "smart rail" train is powered by electric energy, with a design maximum speed of 70 kilometers per hour, supports a variety of power supply modes, charges for 10 minutes, and has a cruising range of 25 kilometers, achieving zero emissions and no pollution.
The passenger capacity of the "smart track" train is also far beyond that of ordinary buses. The standard 3-section marshalling train can carry more than 300 passengers, and the 5-section marshalling train can carry more than 500 passengers, which effectively overcomes the defect of small bus passenger capacity and greatly improves the transportation capacity. The "smart rail" train can be put into use with simple road reconstruction. Under the same capacity, the line investment is only 1/5 of that of modern trams, and the construction period of a running line is only one year. It can not only be used as a supplement to large-capacity rail transit in first-tier cities, but also as the main body of public transportation in second-and third-tier cities, integrating into the three-dimensional transportation network of underground, ground and air.
