The Dazhang High-speed Railway is a national "Twelfth Five-Year" project railway planning project. Yesterday, the reporter learned that the planned transportation capacity of the Dazhang high-speed railway project is 45 million person times per year, with a total investment of 18.05 billion yuan, and it is expected to open to traffic in 2019. After it is completed and opened to traffic, it will only take 100 minutes from Datong to Beijing.

Datong is located at the junction of the three provinces (regions) of Shanxi, Hebei, and Inner Mongolia. It is a geographical undertaking for the country to implement the two important strategies of the rise of the east and the development of the west. It is not only an important energy security base in my country, but also an important part of the coordinated development of Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei. The ecological barrier is also one of the country's 42 comprehensive transportation hub cities. However, Datong, which has such a geographical advantage, does not have a high-speed railway so far, which seriously restricts the development of local tourism, logistics, commerce and other modern service industries. At present, it takes 6 hours by train from Datong to Beijing, a distance of about 350 kilometers.

The Datong-Zhangjiakou high-speed railway starts from Huairen County in our province and ends in Huai'an County, Hebei Province. It connects with Beijing-Zhangjiakou Railway, Huzhang Railway, and Daxi Passenger Dedicated Line. It is an important passenger transport channel connecting Beijing, Tianjin, Hebei, Shanxi and Shaanxi. The total length of the project is 140 kilometers, including 124 kilometers in our province. After the completion of the project, it will closely link the northern Shanxi region with the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region and effectively promote regional economic development.
