On April 25, 2019, the fourth-generation product of the tram family, the new multi-articulated 100% low-floor modern tram, passed the in-plant commissioning test and went offline in Tangshan.
The multi-articulated 100% low-floor modern tram adopts suspension car technology. Only 3 bogies are needed for 5-car marshalling. The 2 suspension cars have high freedom of arrangement and large passenger capacity. Compared with the previous single-articulated modern tram, the length of the new multi-articulated tram is shortened by nearly 5 meters under the condition of similar personnel capacity.
The use of flexible bogies makes the multi-articulated 100% low-floor modern trams can smoothly pass through 25 m radius small curves and 60 ‰ long ramps, with strong line adaptability and better stability and comfort.
The vehicle adopts the domestic traction system and the self-developed MVB network, and the large-size driver's desk display realizes the integration of PIS system and TCMS system human-computer interaction interface, which not only increases the display area, but also optimizes the driver's line of sight.
The research and development team of China Car Tangshan Company also adopted composite car body on the tram, which greatly reduced the weight of the whole vehicle. An external independent module has been designed for the driver's cab to facilitate external maintenance of the equipment and separate replacement of the shell. While minimizing the per capita energy consumption, the cost of the whole life cycle of the whole vehicle has been reduced.
Multi-articulated 100% low-floor modern tram as one of the "greenest" means of transportation at present, its track can be directly laid on both sides of the existing road, without special lanes, vehicles running and parking on the ground, the system construction cost is only 1/4 of the subway, less investment, short construction period, no pollution to the environment, has become the development trend of urban rail transit in various countries.
With the acceleration of global urbanization, green, low-carbon, energy-saving, environmentally friendly, intelligent and convenient transportation will be the core of future urban functions.
