In early September, Guangzhou South Railway Station held the Guangzhou-Shenzhen-Hong Kong high-speed rail 5G coverage project start-up activities. China Railway Guangzhou Bureau Group Co., Ltd., in cooperation with Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd. and China Mobile Communications Corporation, will complete the construction task before the Spring Festival in 2020 to achieve 5G coverage in the inner section of the Guangzhou-Shenzhen-Hong Kong high-speed railway. The unstable signal inside the car and the slow speed of the network are the problems that the railway has always been criticized by passengers. The railway has always been willing but unable to deal with this problem due to technical limitations. The emergence of 5G has made both the railway and passengers see the hope of solving this problem. The railway's combination of 5G should be able to improve such problems, even if it cannot be cured, it is believed that it can be improved to optimize the travel experience of passengers.
According to the report, taking 30GB of video data for a locomotive running a route as an example, it takes about 40 minutes to upload the data to the server through manual dump, which is time-consuming and laborious. Now, after on-site testing, the locomotive and the ground can automatically dump 30GB of video data in about 3 minutes through high-speed wireless communication of 1.5Gbps, which is 13 times higher than the previous dump efficiency. I believe that people often have this doubt, many lines have a large passenger flow, passengers often can not buy tickets, why can not open the train? The answer is likely to be "can not do". How long does it take for passengers to get off and board a train after it arrives at the terminal? It doesn't take long for passengers to take off and land, half an hour is enough, but often it takes nearly an hour for a train to turn back after it arrives at the terminal, because it also involves various operations in all aspects of the railway, which must be carried out for safety. The application of 5G can improve the efficiency of some railway operations, which means that more trains will be possible.
When the smart city appeared, the railway also raised the banner of smart railway. From face recognition to high-speed rail entering the station without a ticket and ID card, to using Alipay to scan the code to enter the station, the railway has taken on a new look unconsciously. We have been able to see the answer to the question of how to build a smart railway. The combination of 5G brings not only the convenience of the moment, but more importantly, it provides it with a road to a broader future. Smart railway is not a phased result, but continuous progress, always on the road.
