On April 29, the Lanzhou-Urumqi high-speed rail will implement e-tickets across the board. So far, 1075 stations have opened e-tickets for railways across the country, and the mainland high-speed rail and intercity railways have achieved full coverage of e-tickets.
"After the implementation of e-ticket, passenger travel experience will be further enhanced." The person in charge of the passenger transport department of the State Railway Group said that passengers can purchase tickets, refund tickets and change tickets through the Internet, and can complete the itinerary change without leaving home. With valid identity documents, they can realize "one pass" and contactless entry and exit stations. Real-name verification, ticket checking, ticket checking and other links are more convenient and faster. The average speed of ticket checking at the gate is shortened from 3.8 seconds/person to 1.3 seconds/person, which greatly improves the efficiency and saves time cost, and can effectively prevent the loss of tickets, buy fake tickets and other risks.
In November 2018, the e-ticket was piloted on the Hainan Island High-speed Railway. In July 2019, it was expanded to Shanghai-Nanjing, Chengdu-Chongqing, Guangzhou-Zhuhai (Zhanjiang West), Kunming-Dali-Lijiang 4 high-speed rail intercity railways. After the fourth quarter of 2019, it will be implemented on a large scale in the national high-speed rail and intercity lines.
