The Shanxi Provincial Government recently released a list of provincial key projects (the first batch) and new major infrastructure projects in 2021, involving 5 railway projects, of which 3 new projects are planned to be started this year. New Jining via Datong to Yuanping high-speed railway. The Jining-Yuanping high-speed railway starts from Wulanchabu City, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, and runs through Datong City, Shuozhou City and Xinzhou City in our province. The total length of the new line is about 269.6 kilometers. The railway grade is a double-track high-speed railway with a design speed of 250 km/h. The total investment of the project is about 33.93 billion yuan, and the construction period of the project is 4 years. The whole line is scheduled to start in June 2021.

Xiongxin high-speed rail Shanxi section. Xiongxin high-speed railway is a part of Beijing Kunming channel in the "eight vertical and eight horizontal" high-speed railway network. It starts from xiong'an station in xiong'an new area, passes through xiong'an new area, Baoding city, Wangdu County, Tang County, Quyang County, Fuping County, Wutai Mountain Scenic Area, Wutai County, Dingxiang County and Xinfu District to the west. The project is scheduled to start in October 2021.

Taizhongyin railway Taiyuan south to Liulin south section of the EMU train renovation project, with a design speed of 160 kilometers per hour, plans to operate a total of 6 pairs of EMUs, including 4 pairs from Taiyuan to Liulin south and 2 pairs from Taiyuan to Luliang. After the implementation of the project, Taiyuan to Liulinnan and Taiyuan to Luliang will speed up to 1 hour and 35 minutes and 1 hour and 22 minutes respectively. The project started construction in March this year and is scheduled to be officially opened for operation on July 1.

Taiyuan Railway Hub East Ring Line Project (pre-stage). That is, the new high-speed railway project from Yangqu West to Taiyuan South section of Taiyuan Railway Hub Passenger East Ring Line is a supporting project of Xiongxin high-speed railway. Taiyuan hub passenger east ring line will be built simultaneously with Xiongxin high-speed railway.

Changzhi-Handan-Liaocheng high-speed railway Shanxi section project (pre-stage). The line is planned to build Liaocheng West Station of Zhengzhou-Jinan High-speed Railway, enter Handan west along the Han-Jinan Railway Passage, enter Shanxi west along the Qinglan Expressway Passage, and lead into Changzhi East Station of Taijiao High-speed Railway. At present, the project has completed the pre-feasibility study and is preparing a feasibility study report. It will strive to be included in the national railway "14th Five-Year Plan" and start construction during the "14th Five-Year Plan" period.
