Recently, super high-speed rail developer HyperloopTransportationTechnologies (hereinafter referred to as HTT) announced that it is about to build a test track in Toulouse, France. The concept of "super high-speed rail" was proposed by Musk as early as 2013. At present, two independent companies around the world are exploring this concept. HTT is jointly led by Tesla and SpaceX.
HTT also released a video showing that the first batch of components has now arrived at its research and development center in Toulouse, France. HTT said it will soon launch a vacuum chamber experiment with a 320-meter and 1-kilometer test route to test the vacuum environment and suspension technology. It is understood that this batch of pipelines are mainly designed for freight and passenger transportation. The inner diameter of the pipeline is 4 meters. The first phase of testing will be launched this year, including the 320-meter pipeline system. By 2019, a full-scale system test of up to 1km will be carried out, when the vacuum pipe will be erected on a 5.8-meter-high bridge. Both test pipelines can be upgraded and used by public HTT companies and partner companies.
In addition, the company's first full-size passenger cabin developed in Spain is also nearing completion and is expected to be transferred to Toulouse for assembly and integration this summer. It is understood that HTT reached a multi-million dollar agreement with Brazil on April 7. The agreement includes the construction of a logistics research center in Brazil, the construction of laboratories, startups, and a super high-speed rail composed of university innovators, scientists and the government. The experimental base is expected to cover an area of 5.4 acres (about 21853 square meters).
In the field of super high-speed rail, HyperloopOne companies directly invested by Virgin Group seem to be moving faster than HTT. The company has recruited many cutting-edge talents and was referred to as the first test track in Nevada in April last year.
