China's overall development goal of high-speed rail is divided into two time nodes: 2020 and 2025. Let's take a look at China's "weaving" speed: 2020 high-speed rail covers 80% of major cities

By 2020, China will basically build the world's most modern railway network and high-speed rail network with reasonable layout, extensive coverage, high efficiency and convenience, and complete functions. The national railway operating mileage has reached about 150000 kilometers, basically covering cities with a population of more than 200000; of which the high-speed rail is about 30000 kilometers, covering more than 80% of the big cities.

By 2020, the number of EMUs will reach about 3800 standard groups, of which more than 900 are "Fuxing" EMUs. 2025 is the first to build a developed and complete modern railway network. By 2025, the scale of the railway network will reach about 175000 kilometers, including about 38000 kilometers of high-speed rail; by 2035, it will be the first to build a developed and complete modern railway network.

According to the plan, by then, it will basically realize internal and external interconnection, inter-regional multi-channel smooth, provincial capital high-speed rail connection, rapid access to prefectures and cities, and basic coverage of counties, providing strong transportation guarantee, making China's railway an important symbol and component of building a powerful country.
